Figgieville has a new shipment of olives from the grower in California—in 10 oz jars with a reduction in price per pound!

Here’s what we have available for preorder for this Wednesday’s market:

Meat—Pastured lamb, chicken, and pork.

Baked goods—Ethan’s Awesome Sugar Cookies.

Fermented foods—sauerkraut and jalapenos.

Salsa—Made with locally grown and organic ingredients.

Olives and olive oil—organic and directly from the grower in California.

Our market is unique because all of our producers grow without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, raise animals on pasture, and use as many local and organic ingredients as possible. Support our local food system! Place your order from now until Tuesday at noon for pickup on Wednesday between 4 and 7 pm.

Dear Green Fork Farmers Market Customers,

It looks like it might be a good idea not to have a market this Wednesday. The weather is supposed to be bad, and we don’t want to have orders that can’t be filled by farmers, or farmers who bring in product and customers aren’t able to pick up, or have to cancel it altogether. So we will take a break and be back next week.

It’s supposed to be nice the rest of the week, though—so we’d like to let you know about the Dig In! Food and Farming Festival *coming up this weekend. The festival will feature Douglas Gayeton as the keynote speaker, who will present on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon about food, farming, and food system change. There will also be classes, kids’ workshops, an opening reception and film, information/vendor fair, seed and tool exchange, food and farming art show, short films and discussions, and yummy local food. Take a look at the festival schedule and pre-register at *diginfestival.com.

Sorry we are so late getting this out this week! Just got back from the agriculture conference that kept us away last week, and now we’re excited about a new year of growing and bringing you the best local, naturally grown products available. Don’t forget that our growers don’t use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and are committed to sustainably grown and humanely raised food.

We’ll be open all winter with a seasonal selection of greens, lamb, chicken, pork, beef, mushrooms, herbs, eggs, salsa, baked goods, lacto-fermented sauerkraut and other vegetables, jams and jellies, and olives and olive oil directly from the grower in California.
