Garlic, Elephant

Even though this plant is called Elephant Garlic, it is not a true garlic but rather a member of the leek family. Does it smell like garlic? YES! Does it taste like garlic? YES but in a much milder form. Can it be used the same way? Elephant garlic can be eaten raw, yes I know some people who like to eat regular garlic raw, but this is much milder. It can be cooked and eaten like a vegetable, or it can be grated or crushed like regular garlic cloves, or it can be sliced and added to your favorite dish. It is often roasted to be spread on other foods, such as a crusty bread, veggies or meat, or can be used as an added ingredient to other sauces.
